Water Utility Maintenance Worker

The Benton/Washington Regional Public Water Authority, a Regional provider of wholesale potable water to 17 different public water systems in Northwest Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma, currently has one new position available. This position is Full Time (40 hours per week) and the normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The position is eligible for Full Benefits after 30 days of employment. The Utility Maintenance worker position is an entry level position for unlicensed personnel required to maintain the Authority’s Water Treatment Plant, Distribution System, and other associated facilities. The applicant should have experience with mechanized equipment such as mowers, weed trimmers, tractors, and operating hand tools. Some maintenance experience on water system appurtenances, including but not limited to: pumps, motors, chemical feed systems, and treatment plants is preferred, however; all appropriate training to obtain the necessary licensing to move to the Maintenance Specialist I position will be provided by the employer. The employee must be able to obtain a minimum of an Arkansas Department of Health Grade 3 Water Distribution License within 12 months of their start date.
The starting pay for the Maintenance Assistant is $18.00 per hour ($37,440 annually) to $25.50 per hour ($53,040 annually) depending on experience, qualifications, and current Arkansas Department of Health Water Operator Licenses. (Out of State Water Distribution Licensing will be considered, but it is the Applicant's responsibility to check with the Arkansas Department of Health on license reciprocity.)
