Chief Executive Officer
Buchanan County Health Center (BCHC) is looking for a dynamic and strategic individual to serve as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will be empowered by the Board of Trustees to lead a high performing team of 340+ associates. This individual should be dedicated to providing the best care, while leading the advancement of healthier communities. Must be committed to using experience in healthcare administration to strategically optimize operations or advance the organization while nimbly responding to a changing healthcare environment. The CEO is directly responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the general direction and supervision of hospital and clinic operations, financial affairs and patient care services with the help of the directors and department managers. The CEO is also directly responsible for maintaining compliance with Federal, State and Local codes, regulations and ordinances as applicable.
BCHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital with a 39-bed long-term care facility operating in a rural market in Independence, Iowa with an operating budget of $40 million. BCHC provides high quality, full-spectrum care close to home. Applicants should have a minimum of Master’s Degree in health management, business, healthcare or a related field and 5-8 years of CEO or assistant administrative experience in a hospital or healthcare organization, preferably a Critical Access Hospital. Must demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
