We have an opening for Preventive Maintenance Technician at our Chattanooga State campus!
The role will be responsible for the following:
-Perform a variety of tasks in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment -Read plans and blueprints in the performance of work -Inspect all electrical and mechanical equipment regularly -Repair all electrical motors, controllers, and starters -Replace blown fuses, burned out coils, switches, circuit breakers, and other replaceable electrical equipment -Install electric operated meters for utilities -Promote, support, and participate in student recruitment and retention efforts -Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
-Education and Training: High School Diploma or GED and completion of standard apprenticeship in the electrical trade -Work experience: Three (3) years full-time work experience in electrical trade; valid driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Knowledge: Knowledge of the principles and methods of electrical installation, repair, and maintenance; of occupational hazards and safety precautions; and of industrial electrical equipment -Skills: Skills in oral and written communication consistent with giving and receiving instruction; problem identification and resolution; interpersonal skills consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships -Abilities: Ability to operate the necessary tools and equipment required in the performance of duties; to read and follow plans and blueprints; and to use fingers, hands, and arms to manipulate wiring, etc. to work in confined areas, to distinguish color and depth
