The City of California, Missouri, is seeking a part time legal assistant or part time paralegal, to work under the direction of the City Attorney. The position does offer employee benefits such as health insurance, dental, vision, life and 401K. The number of hours worked per week will vary. The successful candidate will have professional legal (or equivalent) office experience, maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity, be proficient in the use of Word, the ability to maintain confidentiality, the ability to work independently and collaboratively with others, attention to detail, and excellent typing, telephone, people and organizational skills. Experience in the use of Excel is preferred. Experience in case management and organization, scheduling, and management of legal files, is preferred. The candidate will perform a full range of legal support tasks, including filing, scanning, word processing, organization, maintenance of legal documents and files, assist in research projects, prepare memos, charts and tables, monitor case schedules, and other projects or tasks as needed. The hourly wage will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
