Position Overview:

Immediate full time, 40 hours per week opening for an LPN to be a RESIDENTIAL TRAINING SPECIALIST for New Horizons Community Support Services, Inc. a community mental health center which provides rehabilitation services and residential services to adults with serious mental illness located in Jefferson City and Columbia, MO. Work setting is within the Residential Program facilities including two Residential Care Facilities, three Supported Apartment Facilities and one Group Home.

 

Hours/benefits:  Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm occasional earlier mornings when as needed to monitor students passing medications for L1MA class.  Full benefits including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, paid holidays, paid leave, Tuition Reimbursement and a 403(b) retirement plan.

 Job duties include but not limited to:

  • Teaching Level One Medication Aid certification classes
  • Teaching Insulin certification classes
  • Teaching First Aid and CPR classes
  • Administering annual TB tests
  • Observing/instructing staff while they demonstrate medication administration passes
  • Provide on-going education for staff regarding medication administration and health related     topics
  • Coordinating training schedules with staff and ongoing tracking of required training.     

Qualifications:

 LPN in Missouri.  Willing to attend training and become certified as a LIMA Instructor and a CPR and First Aid Instructor.  Must have valid driver’s license and favorable driving record for traveling to residential facilities in Jefferson City and Columbia, MO.  Ability to utilize an electronic Medication Administration Record.
