Electrician & Maintenance Technician
Job Description:
To inspect, analyze, repair, replace, install, and maintain plant electrical and electronic equipment including all control components. Also, to perform any general plant maintenance as required.
Repair production equipment, plant equipment, and related systems, particularly when concerned with electrical /electronic malfunctions.
Analyzes malfunctioning machines and systems (electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, etc.), recommends corrective action, and makes electrical or other type repairs or modifications.
Maintains a working understanding of plant production processes, equipment, systems, and facilities, in order to perform maintenance effectively.
Works in cooperation with engineering, technical, and production supervisors, or outside contractor personnel when directed.
Use past practices, basic data tables, vendor literature, and technical references to determine electrical equipment materials, sizes, and other working data for approval by the supervisor or project engineer.
Analyzes and repairs specialized equipment which is dependent on electronic controls, electromechanical mechanisms, and related components, under general direction.
Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and makes repairs correctly, safely and according to National Electrical Code and any local codes.
Assists in the calibration of electrical components.
Repairs and replaces defective components, bends and installs conduit and pulls wiring for electrical equipment, and performs preventive maintenance.
Provides draft schematic diagrams for any "field changes" made to plant equipment.
Maintains electrical testing and calibrating equipment in good working order.
Follows all plant and OSHA safety regulations, including an excellent knowledge of lockout /tagout procedures.
Enters and closes work orders in the CMMS system.
Keeps work areas clean and orderly
Performs any general maintenance duties as necessary and determined by supervisor.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience troubleshooting AB PLC's
IBEW Apprenticeship or
Licensed Electrician or
Industrial Electricity Certificate or,
Verified external experience
