JAIL CLERK
Full-Time Jail Clerk
The Cole County Sheriff’s Department is accepting applications
for a full-time jail clerk. Must be able to work Mon-Fri from 8am –
4pm. Primary responsibility of this position will be computerized
collection of fingerprints for Conceal and Carry Weapons permits,
court ordered fingerprints, sexual offender fingerprints, and DNA
collection of sexual offenders. Other duties will include processing
bond paperwork to the appropriate court, filling inmate vending and
staff vending machines, act as backup for Detention Clerk sched-
uling inmate visitations, filing of inmate records and other duties
as assigned.
Full-Time Jail Financial Assistant
The Cole County Sheriff’s Department is accepting applications
for a full-time jail clerk. Must be able to work Mon-Fri from 8am
– 4pm. Primary responsibility of this position will be issuing deb-
it cards and/or checks from the Keefe software, answer inmate
request using Securus system. Check new visitor accounts in
MULES, setup and print inmate visitation list for the day, process/
track medical cost incurred by the inmates, approve invoices for
payment. Monthly billing for out of county holds, monthly billing for
USM for transport and housing, write and mail checks to inmates
no longer in custody. Schedule attorney visitation in person and
on Zoom. Computerized collection of fingerprints for Conceal and
Carry Weapons permits, court ordered fingerprints, sexual offender
fingerprints, and DNA collection of sexual offenders. Other duties
will include acting as backup for Jail Clerk scheduling inmate visita-
tions, filing of inmate records and other duties as assigned.
Salary is accompanied by an employee benefits package, which

sation currently matching 50% on the dollar up to 6%.

Be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or
equivalent
Be able to type 40 wpm
Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word
Be able to multi-task, be self-motivated, able to work well
with others or alone
Pass a background check.
